Giving Back to Our Community

We are grateful to have you as a client of the Bierker Group.  As an expression of our gratitude and with your permission, we’ll make donations in your name to one or more of these three local organizations, in order to support the communities in which we all live and work.   Each organization has a mission that is home and family-oriented, which made the choices easy!

Children’s Miracle Network

Agents at the Bierker Group donate a portion of the proceeds from each transaction to the Children’s Miracle Network.  This organization raises funds for care at over 170 hospitals nationally.  Our donations are contributed to Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC, keeping your donation in the area for the benefit of local children.

Since 1972, RE/MAX Associates have donated almost $150 million to the Children’s Miracle Network nationally, and in addition to contributing part of their commission from home sales, they organize and attend other fundraisers, such as golf tournaments, benefit dinners and charity auctions to raise additional funds.  If you’d like more information on this program, or on our commitment to supporting medical care for Pittsburgh’s children, please ask!  We’d love to provide you with more information about the organization and the program.  You can also find more information at: www.childrensmiraclenetworkhospitals.org.

Animal Friends

For many of us, pets are part of the family.  We also know that for many, many of you, pets play a huge role in the life of your household.  At the Bierker Group, we are lucky to return home each day to our happy, healthy pets, but we know that not every pet has a home yet.

We would be pleased to make donations in your name to Animal Friends, a non-profit organization in northern Allegheny County.  This facility offers shelter and adoption, education and behavior classes, and extensive spay/neuter programs.   If you would like to learn more about Animal Friends, go to: www.thinkingoutsidethecage.org.

Habitat for Humanity of Greater Pittsburgh

This non-profit organization relies primarily on volunteer efforts to build, repair or retrofit housing in the area, with the goal of improving entire blocks or neighborhoods.  They are working to eliminate substandard housing, one family at a time.

Recipients of their services may receive repairs on their residence, or they may volunteer at least 350 hours of work, alongside volunteers in the renovation of a home in need of extensive repair.  Renovated homes are then sold to the recipient with a 30-year interest-free mortgage, and $950 in closing costs, providing a path to home ownership for families within the income guidelines adopted by the organization.
